A: In today’s insurance based model psychiatrists are inclined to see patients for quick 15-minute medication management visits. At Mindful Medicine we believe that doctors need more time to connect, listen, and treat our patients. We believe it is unethical to rush our patients and that 30 – 60 minute visits should be the standard. Insurance companies often create barriers to correct diagnosis and treatment. By eliminating these barriers the doctor can decide the length of the visit, choose an accurate diagnosis, and recommend a proper course of treatment without any influence from a 3rd party.
